In 2016, he became the fifth bowler to take a hat-trick in the ICC Under-19 World Cup when he picked 5 wickets against Ireland.
In the same year, he became Nepal’s leading wicket-taker by picking 14 wickets in six matches.
He also became the second-highest wicket-taker in the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh.

In January 2018, He was named in Nepal’s squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament.
In February 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Lamichhane as one of the ten players to watch ahead of the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Tournament.
In May 2018, he was added to the ICC Rest of the World XI team.
In July 2018, He made his T20I debut for Nepal against the Netherlands in the third match of the 2018 MCC Tri-Nation Series.
In October 2018, he was named in Nepal’s squad in the Eastern sub-region group for the 2018-19 ICC.
