Sunil’s parents are from Nepal. They later migrated to India.
Sunil’s father KB Chhetri officer retired from the EME Corps of the Indian Army.
Chhetri’s Mother Sushila Chhetri played for the Nepal women’s national team along with her twin sister.
During his formative years, Chhetri’s family was living in austerity. He did not have sufficient money to pursue his goals.
