Praggnanandhaa was the winner of the World Youth Chess Championships Under-8 title in 2013. He received the title of FIDE Master when he was seven years old. He was the winner of the Under-10 title in 2015 following which Praggnanandhaa made history at the age of 10 years and became the international master chess player.
He was the winner of the World Junior Chess Championship in 2017 and won his first chess grandmaster title. He earned his second chess grandmaster title on 17 April 2018 at the Gredine Open In Urtijei, Italy Praggnanandhaa received the third grandmaster title at the age of 12 years.
At this age, he became the second youngest person to win this title. On 12 October 2019, the World Youth Championship the Under-18 section was won by Praggnanandhaa. He earned the rating of 2600 in December 2019 and became the second-youngest person to earn this rating. In April 2021, he was the winner of the Polgar challenge arranged by the Julius Baer Group and chess24.com for young talents.
He was the winner of the Master Championship organized by the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in 2022. He was the winner of the Airthings Masters championships in February 2022 and created history in its eighth round by defeating his opponent Magnus Carlsen who is the world chess champion.
