Payal Kapadia is an Indian filmmaker. She won the Golden Eye award for best documentary film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival for her film A Night of Knowing Nothing. In 2017, her film Afternoon Clouds was the only Indian film that was selected for the 70th Cannes Film Festival.

- Payal participated in a protest lasting 4 months in 2015 opposing the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII Director.
